Contemporary Sculpture
Although I work with a variety of materials, I am most intrigued by stone.
Its natural beauty is unrivaled, each piece a unique combination of veining, marbling, color and lucency.
I enjoy the transformative challenge of taking a cold, hard, inanimate object and giving it life with personality, warmth and a softness that compels people to reach out and touch it.

A Moment's Grace
Colorado Yule Marble/Mesabi Black Granite 72"L x 24"W x 20"H
This stylized rendering of a child in mother's arms was commissioned by Velinda Stevens, the late CEO of Kalispell Regional Medical Center, for display in the interior courtyard of the forthcoming Women and Children's Center. It was carved from a 2 ton block of Colorado Yule Marble, originating from the same quarry that provided stone for the Lincoln Memorial and Tomb of the Unknowns in Washington D. C.
